This is my first photos post of 2015! The short winter days and cloudy, windy conditions do not make for good birding here in the UK, let alone photography. However, with spring upon us I've been out and about dusting the cobwebs off the camera. Here are are just a few of my efforts so far.

Mallard- two males and a female at RSPB Frampton Marsh in Lincolnshire.

Northern Pintail - only one female in the group. Also at Frampton.

Dunlin - another from Frampton

Black-tailed Godwit and Common Redshank - from RSPB Arne in Dorset

Black-tailed Godwit - from RSPB Arne, well into their new breeding plumage

Eurasian Blue Tit and Great Tit both from the National Trust property at Polesden Lacey in Surrey

Western Jackdaw from RSPB Arne

Song Thrush from Hindhead Common in Surrey

Redwing from Belmont Park, a massive 350m walk from home!

and finally, my shot of the year so far, a Eurasian Treecreeper at RSPB Arne
