Another winter migrant lifer

Well it was just a matter of time before I ticked this one as it is a relatively common winter arrival in the UK. I paid a visit to the WWT reserve at Welney in Norfolk yesterday and was rather overwhelmed to see literally hundreds of Whooper Swans.

Here is a pair of adults...



an adult with a juvenile...



a juvenile...



and a nice comparative shot of a resident Mute Swan with his migratory Whooper Swan cousin...



Another couple of migratory waterfowl species were -

Common Pochard from Russia, a female...



and Common Goldeneye from Iceland, this one a male together with a male Mallard...



Having had many photographs of males in the past few years I also managed my first decent shot of a female Common Reed Bunting
