Excellent pic and exactly why this section exists - I would not have known that was a juvenile Stonechat, even though we have a breeding pair of Stonechats near our house.

Found a dead wading bird.Took it home, parcelled it up, and sent it off to the rubber-faced irritant Phil Cool with a note inside which read: “Is this your Sanderling?”

Great shot, Doug. I would probably have mistaken that for a female because of the chest colouring!

You may be right on the sex of the bird. At second glance that looks more like female than male patterns coming through
